The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our Team as a Human Resources Technician. This rewarding position offers an opportunity to function as an advocate for applicants navigating throughout the recruitment process.
- Inputs results from medical clinics, psych results and/or backgrounds
- Follows up for results from medical clinics or psych results, and follows up with applicants in regards to results from medical or psych
- Tracks all defer applicants and follows up on day of deferral
- Follow up daily with applicants by telephone or in person to obtain necessary hiring documentation as required
- Provides assistance in acquiring these documents as necessary
- Refers and schedules applicants for each step of the recruitment process
- Assists in psych testing process when required
- Composes correspondence to applicants on a variety of subjects concerning the area of responsibility
- Maintains a daily log of interaction with applicants and inputs information into the RUSH Hiring System accordingly
- Drives on State business
- Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment
Knowledge of:
- Basic personnel procedures
- Composing correspondence to include proper format, spelling, and language usage
- Personal computers using various software programs including Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suites

Ability to:
- Plan, coordinate, analyze and establish priorities

- Respond to a wide variety of personnel inquiries
- Two (2) years of responsible administrative experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field appropriate to the assignment from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of the required experience
- Master’s degree in a field appropriate to the assignment from an accredited college or university
Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation.
In an effort to maintain a safe environment, all employees are required to take a Tuberculosis (TB) test during their New Employee Orientation and every year thereafter.
If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job, then the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).).
