The Arizona Department of Administration (ADOA) General Services Division (GSD) is in search of a skilled HVAC/EMS Mechanic for the Arizona State Hospital (ASH). Positioned within the Facilities Operations and Maintenance (FOAM) section, this crucial role manages a demanding workload across more than 2 million square feet of space in Phoenix and Tucson. Given the age and complex HVAC controls of our buildings, the mechanic will address a substantial volume of service requests to maintain and repair aging equipment, essential for preventing work stoppage due to Arizona's extreme temperatures.
The successful candidate will seek opportunities to improve equipment performance and longevity, demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively in a team, and provide exceptional customer service. This is a vital opportunity to contribute to the smooth functioning and comfort of ADOA-managed facilities, ensuring they remain operational and comfortable year-round. The position predominantly operates during daytime hours but occasionally requires flexibility for night shifts and some weekend work to ensure continuous, 24x7 operations across our aging and complex facilities.
