The Department of Economic Security, Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Indian Health Services Coordinator. DDD provides individuals with developmental disabilities, and their families, services and supports that are flexible, high quality, and member driven. These services provide individuals with opportunities to exercise their rights and responsibilities of independent decision-making and engagement in the community.

Job Duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
•Serves as Liaison responsible for implementation of the Division's FFS delivery system including implementing changes in Federal and State requirements; monitoring changes in Medicaid delivery system; overseeing, guiding and evaluating delivery system and ensuring compliance. Develops and maintains relationships with DFSM and FFS provider networks to ensure providers are familiar with the population and how best to deliver services.
•Maintains oversight of the integrated health plans providing physical and behavioral health services to the AI/AN Members. Develops and maintains relationships with the contracted integrated health plans to ensure providers are familiar with the population and how best to deliver services. Provides oversight and monitoring of the utilization of physical and behavioral health services by the DDD AI/AN member population.
•Works with DDD's Utilization Manager and Support Coordination to prepare reports on findings and respond to anomalies in data. Prepares and presents reports at DDD meetings, DFSM meetings and quarterly Tribal Forum meetings, in collaboration with the DES and DDD Tribal Liaisons and Nurse. Helps to identify solutions to barriers that AI/AN members face.
•Manages the DDD-THP inbox in coordination with the Tribal Nurse Liaison. Oversees DFSM-DDD monthly meeting agenda and meeting. Oversight in coordination with the CMO of the ad hoc steering committee meetings. Manages THP Playbook revision process for DDD. In-state travel to meetings with stakeholders and at conferences to receive information for and represent DDD.
•Works closely with DFSM and DDD integrated health plans to deliver information and material to staff that increases the knowledge base of existing employees regarding AI/AN service coordination. Reviews integrated health plan, DFSM and DDD materials to help ensure they are culturally sensitive and appropriate. Identifies need for and develops materials for members, providers and employees. regarding AI/AN health care needs and services.
•Coordinates with Tribal Leaders/Liaisons at a minimum quarterly, to review utilization findings, member concerns, provider concerns and any other item impacting appropriate service access for the tribal members. Develops solutions and implements solutions in coordination with other DDD teams, integrated health plans, DFSM and other stakeholders. •Meets with members in person if needed to assist support coordinator or nurse.

Knowledge In:
•Managed Care, Medicaid & Medicare concepts.
Care management concepts, principles, and Strategies.
•Nursing theories and practices related to individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and behavioral health conditions.
•Person-centered planning strategies.
•Current Medicaid service delivery system.
Skills In:
•Using computer software (e.g., Google Suites including Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides, Google Forms; Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and other databases, etc.).
•Excellent oral and written communication.
•Comprehensive nursing assessment & needs analysis.
•Analytical and clinical skills.
•Developing, analyzing and implementing health treatment plans.
Ability to:
•Work independently.
•Think critically and problem-solve.
•Observe and assess the health status and needs of individuals with intellectual and/or
developmental disabilities and behavioral health conditions.
•Interpret and apply DDD Policies and Procedures.
•Care management concepts, principles, and strategies.
•Nursing theories and practices related to individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and behavioral health conditions.
•Person-centered planning strategies.
•Current Medicaid service delivery system.

Selective Preference(s):

The ideal candidate for this position will have:
•Bachelor’s degree in Health Care Administration, Business Administration or related field. Prefer Master's Degree in Health Administration. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a healthcare services or administration position.

• Employee shall have a valid Level One fingerprint clearance card issued pursuant to Arizona Revised Statute 41-1968 in order to work with children and vulnerable adults.
• Candidates for this position shall be subject to a search of both the Department of Child Safety Central Registry pursuant to A.R.S. 8-804 and the Adult Protective Services Registry pursuant to A.R.S. 46-459.
• Successfully pass background and reference check; employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process and the Agency’s ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions.
