The Department of Economic Security, Division of Technology Services (DTS), is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as an Information Security Analyst. This position is responsible for continually adapting to stay a step ahead of cyber attackers. The analyst plans and carries out security measures to protect an organization's computer networks and systems. The responsibilities are continually expanding as the number of cyber-attacks increase. The analyst must stay up to date on the latest methods attackers are using to infiltrate computer systems and on IT security. The Analyst needs to research new security technology to decide what will most effectively protect their organization. This may involve attending cyber security conferences to hear first-hand accounts of other professionals who have experienced new types of attacks.
This position may offer the ability to work remotely within Arizona based upon the department's needs and continual meetings of expected performance measures.

Essential Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Assist in developing an automated framework for Security Tool deployment, vulnerability scanning and development, leveraging various Scripting languages and open-source solutions. Monitor their organization’s networks for security breaches and investigate a violation when one occurs.
• Install and use software, data encryption programs, to protect sensitive information. Prepare reports that document security breaches and the extent of the damage caused by the breaches.
• Research the latest information technology (IT) security trends. utilization of Tenable I/O, Tenable SC, Qualys, and Risk Sense is mandatory, will also utilize various ticketing systems (Remedy, Service Desk, Cherwell).
• Help computer users when they need to install or learn about new security products and procedures. Assist in documentation of Applications and Cloud Services in a System Security Plan. Work closely with product and platform teams to engineer and implement application and cloud security controls.
• Help plan and carry out an organization’s way of handling security. Develop security standards and best practices for their organization. Recommend security enhancements to management or senior IT staff.
• Reviews and examines contracts of organizations participating in federally funded programs; verifies compliance with laws and regulations; makes determinations and plans actions. May provide testimony at formal or informal hearings.
• May review products or achievements of co-workers; evaluates work and formulates plans for improvement. Advises co-workers in proper use of a complex system of methods, procedures, rules and regulations utilized by the work system. Directs, explains, and counsels co-workers in carrying out of variety of tasks.

• This position may require driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job to conduct State business, then the following requirements apply: Driver’s License Requirements. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).

• All newly hired State employees are subject to and must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify)
• Employee shall obtain and maintain a valid Level One fingerprint clearance card that meets DES requirements for a Level One card pursuant to Arizona Revised Statute 41-1969.
• Associate's degree OR 1-3 years of experience in information security analysis (or equivalent experience).

State employees are required to participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS), the State sponsored retirement contribution plan and the Long-Term Disability (LTD) program after a 27-week waiting period.
