Job Summary:

The Arizona Department of Administration (ADOA), within the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Division, is seeking a dedicated Information Security Engineer to join our mission-driven team. In this pivotal role, you will serve as a primary safeguard for the State’s ERP system, AZ360, and its critical ancillary connections. You will be responsible for upholding the highest standards of confidentiality, integrity, and usability, ensuring that the state's most vital data remain secure and accessible.

As a key member of our security infrastructure, you will proactively identify potential risks and implement robust security controls across the enterprise environment. Your expertise will be essential in establishing and maintaining rigorous audit procedures designed to protect sensitive information from emerging threats. Given the critical nature of our operations, this position requires a commitment to system stability, which includes providing essential schedule support for AZ360 during nights and weekends as needed to maintain continuous, secure service for the State of Arizona.

Job Duties:
  • Proactively solves complex problems related to identify and account management
  • Recommends opportunities for improvements in processes and security
  • Performs day-to-day operational support of Identity and Account Management for assigned enterprise systems
  • Responds promptly to requests for assistance while maintaining adherence to system and organizational procedures
  • Acts as liaison between Department of Homeland Security and the ERP vendor to ensure all logging and monitoring is available to OOHS
  • Participates in evaluating and documenting infrastructure as related to security architecture, directives, audits, and policies for assigned enterprise application
  • Supports Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity programs for assigned enterprise systems
  • Performs security system/tools maintenance and upgrades
  • Weekend work, as required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:

  • Strong familiarity with directory structures and filesystem permissions.
  • Deep understanding of Advantage 4.0 security architecture.
  • Role-based access control (RBAC) configuration, security class setup, and maintenance.
  • User provisioning and de-provisioning, onboarding/offboarding, and role lifecycle management.
  • Responsibility and permission mapping, including understanding of menus, task security, and data-level security.
  • Statewide security controls and policies, as well as batch and job security controls.
  • User onboarding/offboarding workflows and Identity and Access Management (IAM).
  • Advantage integrations with Active Directory, LDAP, and Single Sign-On.
  • Security protocols including SAML, OAuth2, and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
  • Access certification and review processes.

Skills in:

  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Regulatory and compliance frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, and local policies).
  • Role-based access control (RBAC) and user provisioning processes.
  • Identifying common ERP vulnerabilities and threat vectors.
  • Utilizing audit and logging mechanisms within ERP systems.

Ability to:

  • Balance, prioritize, and organize multiple tasks.
  • Work collaboratively in teams and across organizations.
  • Synthesize feedback and adjust plans accordingly.
  • Develop and write documentation of processes and specifications.
  • Conduct risk assessments and provide clear documentation.
  • Interpret policies and explain security decisions to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Handle high-pressure audit situations.
Selective Preference(s):
  • Bachelor's degree plus 5 or more years of experience in information security analysis and engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • Certified Information Security Systems Professional preferred
