This position is eligible for part-time/full-time remote work (including virtual office arrangement). Must reside in the State of Arizona.

Job Summary:

The Information Services Division is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Web Application Security Engineer. Act as a primary point of contact for all tasks related to Information Security operations and coding standards. Serves as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for security tools, trends, methodologies, and best practices for securing platforms at the application and server level.

Major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
● Proactively solving complex problems by scanning source code, auditing results with development and/or security teams and offering plans for remediation of vulnerabilities.
● Stays up-to-date with the latest updates relating to security threats and solutions.
● Communicate security processes and principles to stakeholders, both inside and outside of the IT organization.
● Training staff on application security and remediation of application security code defects. Provides application security support to development teams, including reviewing and explaining application security tools and processes, providing vulnerability explanations and remediation guidance, and performing basic configuration of scans.
● Communicating technical application security concepts to staff, including developers, architects, and managers.
● Maintains system reliability and availability by assessing and scoping of application security needs.
● Performing code reviews to ensure security standards are met and vulnerabilities are resolved.
● Contributing to project planning and project deliverables.

Selective Preference(s):

● Bachelor's Degree in Information Security plus (5) or more years in the information security analysis and engineering (or equivalent experience).

● Certified Information Security Systems Professional. Experience in equivalent combination of education and/or experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties (Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science).
