The Information Security Manager Senior position plays an essential senior leadership role within Cyber Command in the protection of the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of State of Arizona information and systems.
This is accomplished by overseeing the strategic selection and implementation of security controls across the enterprise, and ensuring that they are properly configured and continuously maintained to most effectively detect and protect against all forms of information security threats, both internal and external.
• Overseas and provides leadership to Cyber Command technical professionals in complex day-to-day operational support of the hardware, software, and managed solutions used to protect the State of Arizona systems and networks from cyber attacks. Provides strategic guidance on capabilities used to secure the State from data loss and cyber incidents by leveraging a variety of enterprise technology controls
• Lead the prompt response of Cyber Command's technical team to any agency's requests for support of or assistance with the enterprise security tools, maintaining adherence to organization's SLA goals of service excellence and exceeding customer expectations
• Lead efforts to ensure the effective evaluation of infrastructure and applications as they relate to information security architecture, directives and policies. Ensures necessary skills and competencies are in place to properly complete information security projects and operational goals. Helps identify opportunities to assist with implementing security solutions to improve efficiency and reduce waste. Reviews the progress of all projects and reports on the performance and status to the executive team
• Ensures the functional analysis of existing or proposed enterprise security solutions. Provide guidance, feedback, and recommendations on the need for new systems, resources, and software to address security capability gaps identified by architect and engineer teams
• Participates with defining enterprise security policies and standards. Provides input to functional or departmental strategy. Defines immediate and long term goals, priorities, and operational plan to ensure team goals are aligned with the goals and priorities of the organization. Provide strategic input and guidance on the development and preparation of the Cyber Command and Enterprise Security budget
• Other duties as assigned as related to the position
Knowledge:
• Thorough working knowledge of information security technologies, industry trends and best practices in the areas of information security protections, incident response, risk assessment, compliance and vulnerability management
• Deep understanding of all facets of management and leadership, as well as vision for Information Security within an enterprise environment
• Thorough working knowledge of Statewide Information Security Policies, NIST, CIS, and other applicable security frameworks
• Thorough working knowledge of most infrastructure technologies and in-house developed applications utilized in the enterprise
• Thorough knowledge of information security controls and best practices applied to enterprise environments
• Thorough working knowledge of the organization’s methodologies and tools

• Bachelor’s degree plus 8 years of experience in information security (or equivalent experience)
• Certified Information Security Systems Professional preferred
• Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12.)
• Requires possession of and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment
