This position is available for remote work on a full-time basis within Arizona (including virtual office arrangement).

Job Summary: Under the general guidance and oversight of the Chief Information Officer, the Infrastructure Manager will be responsible for managing the Technical Services Unit within the Information Technology Office. This position directs and oversees the planning, design, development, operations and maintenance functions in the areas of telecommunications, network architecture, systems administration, and technical Service Desk for the Agency.  This is a flexible position. You will have the option to work remotely (virtual office) or telework within Arizona. 

Technical Services Unit manager also:

  • Formulates and establishes performance measures, goals and objectives for the Technical Services Unit in line with the Agency Strategic Plan.
  • Monitors progress with established performance measures, goals and objectives and provides regular status updates to the CIO.
  • Assists in the development of the annual budget for ITO. 
  • Interacts with management and staff throughout the agency to resolve IT technical issues and provide quality customer service.
  • Adheres to and fully supports the Arizona Management System (AMS).

You will be responsible for supervising staff including assigning work, setting priorities, monitoring and evaluating performance, developing and providing training.  You will also ensure that all unit work products are technically sound, accurate and meet program goals, State and Federal statutes and rules. 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
  • Demonstrated ability to balance, prioritize and organize multiple tasks; work collaboratively in teams and across organizations; ability to synthesize feedback and adjust plans accordingly; ability to build strong relationships inside and outside the organization
Selective Preference(s): Ideal candidate should have: 
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline; or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of design, implementation, and operations experience with network infrastructure and cloud technology solutions
  • Certifications in Project Management, ITIL, VMWare, Azure, or AWS is a plus.
  • Thorough working knowledge of infrastructure and cloud technologies
  • Expert technical knowledge of Microsoft and Google products, systems management platforms and Security
  • Designing and implementing high availability clusters, VMWare, Networking & Network storage solutions and Load balancing
  • Desktop and Server Management, Desktop and Application Virtualization, Server hardware design, configuration, support, and troubleshooting, change and configuration management
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills, system administration and leadership skills
  • Strong customer interface skills to gather solution requirements and translate into hardware architecture; leadership abilities and consultative skills to architect, design, and implement solutions; project management skills, passion for technology, client service and quality
  • Experience leading continuous improvement exercises including LEAN, Six Sigma, or others
