Job Summary:

The Arizona Department of Administration (ADOA), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Division, is seeking a dedicated Intermediate Business Analyst to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will provide essential operational subject matter and technical support for the AZ360 HRM modules, leveraging Transact Structured Query Language (TSQL) to deliver impactful reporting and data insights. Serving as a primary liaison between the Information Technology department and a key business unit, you will facilitate the seamless integration of technology and business processes to ensure organizational goals are met.

Working under general supervision, you will collaborate closely with technical teams to assist in AZ360 analysis, manage security workflow configurations, and monitor the operating efficiency of AZ360, PageUp, and CSOD modules. Your primary focus will be the execution of strategic solutions identified by Senior Business Analysts, where you will take a lead role in the construction and validation phases of the project life-cycle. The successful candidate will ensure that all system configurations remain strictly aligned with established agency business processes, contributing to the overall reliability and performance of our enterprise applications.

Job Duties:
  • Collaborates closely with technical teams to perform system configuration and comprehensive testing for AZ360, PageUp, and CSOD modules.
  • Executes specific system modifications and process improvements identified during discovery sessions with key divisions, including the Benefits Services Division (BSD), Human Resources Division (HRD), and the Division of Business and Finance (DBF).
  • Serves as the primary responder for troubleshooting business unit and department system issues to ensure continuous operational support.
  • Performs initial technical analysis and manages the end-to-end ticketing process for system resolutions to maintain overall environment stability.
  • Utilizes Transact Structured Query Language (TSQL) to develop ad hoc reports and perform complex data extractions.
  • Assists in the collection and analysis of performance metrics to validate that implemented solutions meet agency expectations and functional requirements.
  • Partners with customers to identify business unit challenges, collect detailed requirements, and provide documentation for best practice models and resolutions.
  • Supports the statewide roll-out of the Arizona Management System (AMS) and assists in developing training content for new AZ360 modules.
  • Prepares professional briefing documentation, presentations, and reports for various agency stakeholders.
  • Participates in relevant professional meetings and training sessions, which may include travel on State business.
  • Demonstrates flexibility to work nights and weekends as required to accomplish mission-critical tasks and meet rigorous deadlines.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:

  • General knowledge of methodologies and techniques for systems analysis and design, business process modeling, requirements gathering, quality assurance, and software development.
  • Familiarity with Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK).
  • AZ360 (CGI Advantage), PageUp Recruiting, configuration and analysis, including Spreadsheet Designer; TSQL reporting, SQL Server reporting services, AZ360 tables.
  • Data collection and analytics, project mgmt. principles and practices, partnering and consulting with customers of all levels, Google software suite, and translating data trends into usable information for non-technical audiences.

Skills in:

  • Executing LEAN continuous improvement, making informed decisions/recommendations, performing advanced Excel and Google Sheets functions.
  • Documenting process flows and value stream mapping, identifying the root-cause of issues and formulating solutions, research and analysis techniques.
  • Planning, prioritizing and completing multiple tasks, maintaining a high degree of confidentiality and providing a high level of customer service.

Ability to:

  • Effectively adapt to multiple/changing priorities, work under pressure to meet project deliverables and changing deadlines; establish and maintain interpersonal relationships.
  • Understand the needs of State Government agencies and work independently or in a team environment.
Selective Preference(s):
  • Bachelor's degree and/or 2 years of experience in business analysis or equivalent experience is preferred 
  • HR/PR/Benefit experience preferred, PMI certification is a plus
  • Lean or Six-sigma certification is a plus
