This internship is available for remote work within Arizona (including virtual office arrangement).

Job Summary:

We are seeking a talented and engaged intern who wants to develop beyond the classroom. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing air pollution emission inventories prepared by permitted emissions sources and the US EPA. Duties includes, checking calculations for accuracy, reviewing supporting information, evaluating assumptions and estimation methodology, and communicating with the inventory preparer for any corrections or additional information needed. You will also assist with modeling and other air quality technical projects.

Final Project:
• Is to prepare a quality assured data sets which will be included in the EPA National Emissions Inventory.
• Develop and document improvements to analytical processes.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

You will bring the following to the internship:
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong customer service and problem-solving skills
• Projects/coursework in data analysis and technical writing
• Projects/coursework in statistical/quantitative data analysis
• Experience with reviewing/commenting on data studies
• Background in engineering and physical sciences
• Proficiency Microsoft Excel

You will gain the following from this internship:

• Experience working collaborative in with small teams
• Introduction to air quality control technical and regulations
• Experience with quality assurance/quality control systems and procedures
• Introduction to air quality modeling

Selective Preference(s):

• Intern candidate must be in their Junior or Senior year of a BS/BA or working towards a Masters/PhD program.
• Selective preference will be given to students in Environmental Science, Chemistry or Engineering program
• Candidate must have a GPA of 3.0 or better.
• Candidate must have the right to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship.
• Candidate must be at least 18 years old.
