Job Summary:

The Internship Clerical Support provides clerical and administrative support to ensure efficient day-today office operations. This position performs routine office functions including filing, manifesting, data entry, document processing, and general support to staff.

Must be able to work on site in the ADWR office due to the physical files that we manage. On site work also enables the successful candidate to more regularly interact with and learn from staff.

Schedule: Hours may vary from 20 hours per week up to 40 hours per week.

This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures. A minimum of two days on-site at the ADWR office per week is required.

Job Duties:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Perform data entry and maintain accurate records in electronic systems and spreadsheets 
  • Perform basic research utilizing county assessor and county recorder websites to ensure accurate well registry data 
  • File, scan, copy, and organize documents and records (paper and electronic)
  • May assist with process incoming and outgoing mail
  • Provide general clerical support to staff, including document formatting and printing
  • Maintain confidentiality and follow office procedures and policies
  • Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Basic knowledge of office procedures and clerical functions
  • Strong organizational skills and Data entry with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to research landownership and read legal descriptions from County Assessors and Records office preferred
  • Ability to communicate professionally in person, and in writing
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency with common office software (Microsoft Word, Excel, Salesforce)
Selective Preference(s):
  • Work is performed in a standard office environment
  • Office setting with frequent computer uses and use of standard office equipment
  • May require lifting light office materials (files, boxes of paper, etc.) up to approximately 25 pounds
  • Frequent interaction with staff
Pre-Employment Requirements:

Candidates must be enrolled in school and pursing a degree in Hydrology, Water Resource Management, Geology, Geography, Environmental Studies, or related field.

Retirement:

Positions in this classification participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS). Please note, enrollment eligibility will become effective after 27 weeks of employment. The current contribution rate is 12.00%.
