The Department of Economic Security, Division of Technology Services (DTS), is seeking an experienced and highly motivated professional to join our team as an Inventory Specialist. This position serves as a key member of the Centralized Asset Management (CAM) team, supporting the DES warehouse and Desktop Support teams across regions. It is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory control of IT equipment within the DES warehouse and DTS inventory, as well as assisting with the imaging, configuration, and preparation of devices. The role acts as the primary point of contact for IT hardware-related tickets, ensuring the timely fulfillment of requests by delivering pre-imaged and configured equipment to Desktop Support teams. Additionally, the position coordinates the pickup and processing of surplus or returned equipment for re-imaging, redeployment, or disposal, and responds to equipment requests for new hires and offboarding activities.

This position does not offer the ability to work remotely.

Job Duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Delivery and pick up of IT hardware as assigned by Supervisor/Project Coordinator, to include:
• Delivery of pre-imaged IT hardware from the warehouse to the Regional Desktop Support teams
• Pick up of excess or surplus IT hardware from Regional Desktop Support teams
• Pick up of IT hardware from Divisional Supervisors for off-boarded employees.
• Oversee all aspects of warehouse IT hardware inventory, including receiving and intake, inventory tracking and maintenance, and reconciliation to ensure accuracy and accountability.
• Receive calls, emails and web inquiries for end users and /or other external Help Desks.
• Log calls, email or web inquiries into a ticket management system and classify the ticket accordingly.
• Participate in the imaging production and deployment process.
• Imaging and re-imaging of IT hardware, division-specific post-image setup, and installation of a variety of software packages.
• Primary owner and contact for IT hardware-related tickets.
• Validation of installation and communication of DTS tool sets.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:
• Inventory process or procedures.
• Current and supported Operating Systems and Applications like Windows Operating Systems, MS Office 365, Google platform, etc.
• Imaging of IT desktop hardware.
• Installation of a variety of in-house, vendor-supported, 3rd party software packages using scripts.

Skills In:

• Responding promptly to customer needs.
• Customer-centric approach to problem solving.
• Written and oral communication.

Selective Preference(s):

The ideal candidate for this position will have:
• Worked in Information Technology, Asset/Inventory Management or closely related field, or equivalent combination of experience and/or education, from which comparable knowledge and skills.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

• Associate’s degree plus one to three years of information technology experience (or equivalent experience)
• This position does require driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job to conduct State business; then the following requirements apply: Driver’s License Requirements.
• Employees will obtain and maintain a valid Level One fingerprint clearance card that meets DES requirements for a Level One card pursuant to Arizona Revised Statute 41-1969.
• Successfully pass background and reference checks; employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process and the agency’s ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions.
• All newly hired State employees are subject to and must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify).

Retirement:

State employees are required to participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS), the State sponsored retirement contribution plan and the Long-Term Disability (LTD) program after a 27-week waiting period. The ASRS defined benefit plan provides for life-long income upon retirement. You will also have the option to participate in a voluntary deferred compensation program to take advantage of tax-deferred retirement investments.
