Job Summary:

The Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners is seeking a motivated individual to join our team in the role of Investigative Assistant. The Investigative Assistant will be responsible for conducting a wide range of administrative and clerical tasks in support of the Board’s investigative team. This individual will also be responsible for conducting small-scale investigations and inquiries.

Job Duties:
  • Oversees internal tracking spreadsheets, calendars, database and other organizational tools.
  • Drafts and uploads Board meeting agendas, minutes, or other documents.
  • Scans and uploads a variety of documents to different platforms.
  • Tracks and responds to requests for public records, complaint resolutions and confidential access to information.
  • Sends notices regarding complaints, meetings and final dispositions of investigations, among others.
  • Prepares and assembles complaint and other investigative files.
  • Completes other administrative/clerical tasks as necessary.
  • Maintains familiarity with the Board's rules and statutes.
  • Conducts small-scale investigations and inquiries.
  • Reviews adverse backgrounds on applicants and licensees.
  • Collects and analyzes information from a variety of sources.
  • Develops fact gathering questions and corresponds with applicants and licensees.
  • Issues subpoenas, requests information and corresponds with a variety of sources.
  • Assists as a backup for compliance matters.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:

  • Reviewing rules, policies, procedures
  • Confidentiality rules and statutes
  • Database applications including archiving information
  • Investigative techniques

Skills in:

  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with computer programs including Excel, Word and Access.
  • Managing a high-volume event calendar.

Ability to:

  • Analyze complex information from a variety of sources.
  • Oversee a large caseload and multi-task.
  • Meet monthly deadlines.
  • Work both independently and in a team.
