Job Summary:

The Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners is seeking a motivated individual to join our team in the role of Investigative Assistant. The Investigative Assistant will be responsible for conducting a wide range of administrative and clerical tasks in support of the Board's investigative team. This position will also be responsible for conducting small-scale investigations and inquiries.

This position offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Job Duties:
  • Monitors and responds to requests concerning public records, complaint resolutions, and confidential access to information.
  • Manages internal tracking spreadsheets, calendars, databases, and other organizational tools.
  • Drafts and uploads Board meeting agendas, minutes, and related documentation.
  • Scans and uploads diverse documents to various platforms.
  • Distributes notices pertaining to complaints, meetings, and final dispositions of investigations, among other matters.
  • Conducts limited-scale investigations and inquiries.
  • Prepares and compiles complaints and associated investigative files.
  • Develops questions for fact-gathering purposes and corresponds with applicants and licensees.
  • Issues subpoenas, requests information, and corresponds with various entities.
  • Tracks compliance matters for professionals subject to Consent Agreements.
  • Executes additional administrative and clerical duties as required.
  • Maintains proficiency with the Board's rules and statutes.
  • Reviews adverse background information regarding applicants and licensees.
  • Gathers and analyzes information from multiple sources.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:

  • Knowledge and experience with reviewing rules, policies, procedures.
  • Knowledge of confidentiality rules and statutes.
  • Knowledge of database applications including archiving information
  • Knowledge of compliance programs and investigative techniques.

Skills in:

  • Requires organizational and time management skills.
  • Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Requires proficiency with computer programs including Excel, Word and Access.
  • Requires familiarity with managing a high-volume event calendar.

Ability to:

  • Requires the ability to analyze complex information from a variety of sources.
  • Requires the ability to oversee a large caseload and multi-task.
  • Requires the ability to meet monthly deadlines.
  • Requires the ability to work both independently and in a team.
Selective Preference(s):

Experience in an administrative of clerical work preferred
