ARIZONA BOARD OF CHIROPRACTIC EXAMINERS

To protect the public's health, safety and welfare. In the State of Arizona, statute provides for the Board of Chiropractic Examiners to handle the licensing and regulation for the chiropractic profession.

Job Summary:

The Board of Chiropractic Examiners is the agency charged with the mission to protect the health, safety and welfare of the public through enforcement of the laws that govern the practice of chiropractic in the State of Arizona.

Critical functions of that mission are 1. the investigation of complaints filed with the Board, 2. monitoring compliance with Board Orders and 3. processing applications for licensure and certification.

The Investigator II is responsible for conducting difficult investigations of alleged administrative, civil and/or criminal violations of laws, rules, regulations and policies enforced by the agency of assignment; interviews, interrogates collects and preserves evidence reviews records, detects and verifies administrative, civil and/or criminal violations, prepares reports and case files for adjudications; testifies as required in administrative hearings. Responsible for monitoring and compliance of Board Orders.

Completes administrative tasks related to the job functions.

Job Duties:

• Conduct in-person/telephone or virtual interviews with applicants and licensees at the Board's office

• Conduct administrative investigations concerning unprofessional conduct

• Collect, analyze and summarize information from a variety of sources

• Monitoring and compliance for consent agreements and board orders

• Communicate with respondents, attorneys and Board Members

• Maintain a high case volume and meet a variety of deadlines

• Prepare consent agreements and Board orders

• Prepare investigative reports

• Other duties as related to the position

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge:

• Federal, State and agency laws, rules, regulations and policies governing the investigative duties

• The constitutional rights and protection afforded individuals involved in investigations

• Collecting, reviewing, analyzing and summarizing information

• Maintaining confidential information and documentation

• Writing professional reports

• Conducting interviews

Skills:

• Applying and interpreting Federal, State and agency laws, rules, regulations and policies governing the investigative duties in the agency of assignment

• Establishing and maintaining a positive public image and maintaining assigned equipment in a functioning condition

• Properly conducting investigations, interviews, interrogations, collecting and preserving evidence

• Preparing accurate reports appropriate to agency of assignment

• Clear, concise, logical, and professional writing skills

• Critical analysis of complex information

Ability:

• Collect, understand and interpret complex information from a variety of sources

• Manage a large caseload, multitask, and meet continuous deadlines

• Identify potential violations of unprofessional conduct

• Work independently and as part of a team

Selective Preference(s):

• Required to attend a nationally recognized Basic Investigator Training within a year from the date of hire

Pre-Employment Requirements:

• Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver license record checks, required to maintain acceptable driving records and complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.11)

• Requires possession of and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver license appropriate to the assignment
