The Arizona Department of Agriculture is currently recruiting for a Business Analyst to join our Information Technology team. We are seeking an individual who is detail oriented, self-driven and able to manage multiply projects at the same time.

This position will report to the IT Manager and will act as a primary liaison between the IT department and the various business units; support business processes and applications; gathers and documents business requirements; translates business requirements into functional and use case documents; supports developers during design and product development; develops and executes test plans; creates product documentation and end-user training. Responds to requests for assistance through the agency and other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

KNOWLEDGE OF:
Methodologies and techniques for systems analysis and design, business process modeling, requirements gathering, quality assurance and software development

SKILLS IN:
Written and verbal communication skills
Analytical skills to evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, consolidate details and extract to functional requirements
Communication of complex IT terminology to non-technical personnel
Develop and write technical documentation

ABILITY TO:

Ability to adapt to a changing development environment
Balance, prioritize and organize multiple tasks
Work collaboratively in teams across divisions
Synthesize feedback and adjust plans accordingly
Effectively translate user requirements into business, functional and test scenarios

Selective Preference(s):

5 years or more business analysis or similar experience
An ability to include the relevant statutes or rules in the development process, requires understanding of language used

Retirement:

Positions in this classification participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS). Mandatory condition of Employment for all employees who meet the eligibility and membership criteria defined in statue. Current contribution rate is 12.44%. Enrollment eligibility will become effective after 27 weeks of employment.
