POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for the management and oversight of all Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) financial activities. This includes managing the daily activities of staff and regular interactions with the Administrative Services Director and other key personnel.
Typical duties include the preparation and presentation of the annual Judicial budget request to the State Legislature and the Arizona Judicial Council. Monitoring and auditing of expenditures, managing fund sources, complying with judicial and state accounting requirements and processes, and managing the procurement and payroll staffs. Other routine duties include the use of various internal financial systems and processes, preparation of funding proposals and financial reports, monthly and end-of-fiscal year reconciliation of fund balances, and compliance with Arizona Statutes.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field and seven years’ experience in a professional accounting, budgeting, or finance position. Experience may substitute for the degree. This position also requires five years’ experience managing staff and their assigned functions; skill in analyzing and interpreting fiscal and accounting records and preparing clear and concise financial and administrative reports; extensive knowledge of research, analysis, interpretation, and implementation methods and techniques of applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures; as well as excellent Interpersonal customer service skills. Additionally, this position requires the ability to plan and organize efficient financial operations, ad hoc projects, and conversions; manage multiple tasks; have a demonstrated knowledge of financial audits, contract management and procurement methodologies and proficiency in EXCEL, WORD, and ACCESS.
