POSITION SUMMARY:
The Adult Probation Services Division of the Arizona Supreme Court is seeking an Operational Review Specialist V to join our team. This position is responsible for performing operational reviews in all Arizona adult probation departments statewide. Primary emphasis is on auditing and monitoring the compliance, verifying caseload population reports, determining compliance with statutes, administrative orders, funding agreements and program plans, and assisting with verifying accounting/budgeting/financial management systems, policies and procedures.

The Operational Review Specialist communicates with a variety of county personnel to resolve issues, clarify findings and provide technical assistance as needed to obtain data. Other duties include preparing detailed written reports highlighting operational review findings, areas of compliance, deficiencies and recommended corrective action to be taken; and presenting findings and follow-up with the probation departments to ensure corrective action plans are completed in the proposed time frame.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or related field and combination of five years of supervisor or administrative work in probation of community corrections. Directly related experience may substitute for the degree requirement

This position requires detail orientation with strong technical writing and analytical skills, excellent verbal, written communication skills, and following procedures, and a general understanding of the principles of Evidence Based Practices in the adult justice field. This position also requires the ability to analyze statistical data and derive conclusions from the analysis, handle and prioritize multiple tasks and inquiries effectively, and work independently with minimal supervision, while adhering to procedures of the op-review process. Additionally, this position requires the ability to understand and interpret legislation, rules, Arizona Code of Judicial Administration, administrative orders, policies and procedures. Also, proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook or equivalent.

The preferred candidate will have through knowledge of the Arizona Probation System, code of judicial administration, policies and procedures and an understanding of Arizona’s criminal justice system.

Travel level: up to 35%. Must have a valid Arizona driver’s license due to state-wide travel requirements.
