The Arizona Attorney General’s Office Child and Family Protection Division is seeking an experienced Paralegal III (LAIII) to provide support for one or more Assistant Attorneys General in the Protective Services Section.
Job duties may include, but are not limited to performing legal research and conducting investigations; gathering evidence for trials; drafting/preparing legal memoranda, briefs, opinions, and legislation necessary for the processing of dependency/severance cases referred by the client. The LA III answers inquiries from the client, court personnel, and others regarding case activity and status, using automated case management systems to maintain and track case records and activity. This position independently generates the weekly court calendar and coordinates varied attorney schedules for coverage, complies with all laws, rules and office policies and procedures applicable to the performance of the job, and is assigned additional required tasks by supervising personnel. Duties involve reviewing, creating and processing materials and information that are confidential by federal and state laws.
The ideal candidate will have a paralegal certification through an institutionally accredited program and a minimum of one year of full-time employment as a paralegal or, alternatively, two years full-time employment as a paralegal.
