Under the direction of the Legislative Policy Administrator and staff, the intern supports the legislative team on state, local, federal and tribal government relations matters, while also providing minor support to the Public Information Officer (PIO) at the Arizona State Land Department. Core responsibilities include assisting with administrative tasks, scheduling stakeholder meetings, and drafting correspondence for department inquiries. The intern will actively support the agency by researching policy issues, tracking bills, drafting summaries, and attending hearings, providing an invaluable firsthand look at the legislative process.

Since your presence may be required on short notice, scheduling non-essential travel during this time is strongly discouraged, though not strictly prohibited. Interns are not benefit eligible and work at the discretion of the appointing authority. Interns may be employed through their approved assignment or until the department determines that the work is no longer required, subject to funding availability.
