The Department of Real Estate regulates the sale of subdivisions, unsubdivided lands, timeshares, condominiums, membership campgrounds, and cemeteries. It approves and monitors pre-licensing instruction, testing and continuing education courses. The Department also oversees the activities of licensees, investigates complaints against licensees and land developers, and participates in administrative hearings pertaining to their conduct.

Job Summary:

The Licensing Division Manager serves under the direction of the Deputy Commissioner and will be responsible for three (3) divisions.

In addition to the major responsibilities, the Licensing Division Manager will oversee:

• The licensing programs to assure applicants meet qualifications and eligibility criteria for school, course, instructor, and administrator credentials

• Individual real estate, cemetery and membership camping salesperson/broker or entity broker licenses

Job Duties:


• Responsible for managing all licensing, education and develop services operations within statutory timeframes


• Reviews public filings and applies statutory knowledge and requirements


• Represents the Licensing, Education and Development Services Division, and potentially the Department as asked, in meetings, events, and customer interaction

• Communicate with vendor administering the State real estate examination on performance, problem questions, candidates, and changes to testing procedures

• Provide the commissioner with technical and strategic advice on division matters

• Oversee Subject Matter Expert performance with vendor

• Other duties assigned as related to the position

• Techniques, methods and practices of administration, management and supervising; including Lean Management Policies and procedures established for work systems and networks

• Federal and state laws, administrative rules, codes and policies as they pertain to program operations/activities

• Principles and practices of licensing, professional education, or development services


• Applying and interpreting federal and state law, rules/regulations as they pertain to program operations/activities

• Exceptional customer service orientation and customer relationship management skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and excellent presentation skills

• Using computers and computer programs related to agency operations/activities

Selective Preference(s):

Minimum Education and Experience Minimum:

• Bachelor's Degree in Business or related discipline

• In lieu of a degree, 3 years of consultative customer service and/or management experience

Pre-Employment Requirements:

• Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver license record checks, required to maintain acceptable driving records and complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.11)

• Requires possession of and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver license appropriate to the assignment
