Job Summary:

CLASS SUMMARY:


The Media Specialist II position reports to the Director of Media Technology and Media Lead to assist primarily in the successful execution of agency/campus media production and event coverage. The Media Specialist II is expected to be proficient in all major aspects of media coverage and media production: graphic design, web design, photography and videography. This position will take the lead in supporting the agency and campus media requests as a primary obligation. These duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Video production: preproduction, production and post-production
Graphic design for print and digital media
Photo shoots and photo editing
Digital content support, including website maintenance, providing materials,  content, and graphics for website and social media postings
Special event requests/set-up/support
Position will be responsible for some or all of the listed duties and/or additional similar duties listed in this Class Specification, or as assigned
 
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelors of Science or equivalent or four years extensive media production work in graphic design, web design, video production/editing and photography/photo editing.
Project management experience
Preferred - ASL (American Sign Language) fluency
 
LICENSING/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to pass FBI and State background check
Defensive Driver Training Program to be completed by all agency personnel that drive on State business
 
KNOWLEDGE OF:

Policies, procedures, and programs of the immediate work unit
Principles and practices of project management
Agency or program rules, regulations, and operating procedures
Federal and state laws as they apply to the position
Design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the following types of media production, print and digital graphic design and photo and video production and post-production
Latest graphic design programs and photo and video editing software (Adobe CSS, etc.)
Latest Mac OS and Windows OS environments and Microsoft Office
 
 
DEMONSTRATED SKILL/ABILITY TO:

Produce high-quality graphic designs, videos, photos, and digital and print content
Multi-task, manage and prioritize work flow to meet deadlines and expectations in a fast-paced environment
Communicate information and ideas effectively to others
Communicate in ASL 
Collaborate with colleagues to complete assignments
Troubleshoot under pressure
Work well with minimal supervision
Operate all media equipment, software and other tools necessary to complete media coverage and media production work
