Job Summary:

This position is responsible for establishing a K-12 educational program; survey Yuma area teachers to understand classroom needs and to create a Yuma-area contact list, educational materials under the guidance of the lead educator that align with the museum remodel and Arizona educational standards, and Agency Mission. This position will develop a field trip plan to invite teachers to bring their students to the Sanguinetti House Museum and Gardens.

Job Duties:
  • Develop field trip program for Sanguinetti House Museum.
  • Create educational materials (lesson plans, plus teacher workshops and related public programs as needed).
  • Communicate with Yuma-area teachers to assess needs and build engaged contacts for the agency.
  • Assist Museum Staff with special events and Museum tours.

  • Knowledge of Arizona history, with special attention to local-area history (Yuma)
  • Knowledge of history and public history as fields of work
  • Knowledge of education as a field of work
  • Knowledge of State of Arizona Educational Standards

Selective Preference(s):

Bachelor's degree in education, history, or related field required. Master's degree preferred.

  • Must have a valid Arizona driver's license or the ability to obtain one.
