EMPLOYEE REFERRAL PROGRAM:

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position will coordinate and implement all areas of the dependency operational review in all Arizona Juvenile Courts. Through the review process, this position will determine compliance with statutes, administrative orders, funding agreements and program plans, and verify accounting/budgeting/financial management system policies and procedures. Areas of review include Juvenile Court case processing (e.g., case file review, courtroom observation) and the Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) program.

Additionally, this position will prepare detailed written reports highlighting operational review findings, areas of compliance, deficiencies, and recommended corrective action to be taken, as well as make recommendations for program development and improvement. This position will train county personnel on correct operational procedures, provide technical assistance, assist with correctional plans as necessary, and develop and implement program evaluation processes and procedures.

This position may be eligible for a hybrid-telework schedule once the employee has completed three (3) months of employment and has sufficiently proved their ability to perform assigned tasks.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

The successful candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in Child Welfare, Public Administration, Behavioral Science, Criminal Justice, or related field. Directly related experience may substitute for the educational requirements. The candidate will have a combination of 5 years of child welfare and/or court administration and/or juvenile justice and/or criminal justice experience. This position requires strong technical writing and analytical skills, and the knowledge of the juvenile court dependency process and Title 8 of the Arizona Revised Statutes. The position will work effectively with judges, court staff, personnel from other agencies and the public. This position also requires experience with Microsoft tools including Outlook, SharePoint, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

The preferred candidate will have knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and financial audit techniques. The ability to analyze court statistical data and derive conclusions from the analysis. Familiarity with case and records management principles and techniques, and auditing or program evaluation experience.

Travel level: up to 15%, must possess a valid driver’s license. Position will require in-state travel, including overnight trips.
