Job Summary:

Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, this position directs and oversees the performance and duties of various contractor activity for the entire 93 acre campus of the Arizona State Hospital. Engages contractors as necessary to ensure all projects and contractual expectations are performed in a timely manner and of expected quality. Monitors contractor performance through direct observation of work performed, and the review of weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports. Assists with coordinating and purchasing of materials or services, developing project scopes, and other administrative assignments related to support services. Responsible for compliance with Medicare, Joint Commission and state licensing requirements as they relate to the environment of care. Responsible for overseeing facility requirements with contractors including DHS and other outside agencies. Ensures all work orders, renovations, Capital Improvement Projects, Building Renewal Projects and other projects around campus are completed as expected.

Job Duties:

- Oversee the coordination of work activities and develops project scopes specific to building renewal and capital improvement activities. Monitors and assesses contractor work to ensure acceptable performance and results.
- Manages and directs various campus operational and support services, including landscaping, waste and refuse removal, recycling, pest control, and others. Manage and direct subordinate staff (work assignments, setting priorities, hiring, discipline, provide training, approving leave requests, and preparing evaluations).
- Provide technical support to staff regarding support and facility operations and oversees risk assessments.
- Ensures compliance with all Joint Commission, CMS and Licensing requirements related to the environment of care and physical plant.
- Other duties as assigned as related to the position (typically 5% - 10%)

Knowledge Of:
- Arizona Risk Management statues, rules, policies, procedures, operating guidelines.
- Project Management practice.
- Contract development and monitoring
- Managing facility, equipment and support issues.
-Performance Management (PM), and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) and Lean methodologies.

Skill In:
- Problem solving.
- Communication.
- Customer service oriented mindset to support all stakeholders.

Ability To:
- Communicate effectively with the entire staff and be an effective problem solver.
- Multi-task a variety of activities and maintain control of hospital-wide projects.
-Lead facilities and construction procurement and contracting processes.
- Understand and interpret construction and building practices around the state hospital campus.

Selective Preference(s):

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Management or related field with 5 years professional experience in project management specific to facility practices and contractor oversight in a health care environment, which will include 2 years in a supervisory role. Master's degree in a related field may substitute for 2 years of experience.
