Under general direction, conducts legal research; writes reports; reviews contracts; and drafts correspondence, proposed legislation, and case law summaries. Performs related duties as assigned. This classification is designated as UNCOVERED. Incumbent serves at the pleasure of the Director of the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

Associate's Degree in a Legal Assistant/Paralegal program or a related field; and three (3) years experience in a law office or related environment as a litigation paralegal using specialized legal computer software; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform work.
Paralegal Certification through a school approved through the American Bar Association or certification through the National Association for Legal Assistants; Knowledge of or experience handling public records.
WORKING CONDTIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to respond to court appearances as needed.
Must have and maintain a valid Arizona driver license.
May be required to travel to perform certain work functions.
