The purpose of this position is to ensure statutorily required (A.R.S. 36-694) follow-up for newborns with out-of-range screening results and program educational activities. This position is responsible for coordinating the delivery of appropriate diagnostic testing and early intervention for presumptive positive screening results. This position will also support program education activities for both internal and external stakeholders and customers.
- Supervise one of two the Newborn Screening Follow-up section by determining priorities, reviewing workloads and performance goals, collaborating with healthcare providers and stakeholders to develop and review case management and training protocols and regularly evaluate program effectiveness.
- Provide assistance with difficult or complex cases on a daily/weekly basis when attempts to contact primary care physicians, audiologists or parents are unsuccessful. This position may require the supervisor to fill in when staffing absences or vacancies affect workload.
- Establish and maintain effective collaborative relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders including contracted specialists, other States, federal agencies, and related workgroups, parents, and other program partners.
- Assess and address the education needs of various stakeholder groups to develop and deliver training sessions and educational materials to healthcare providers, laboratorians, program staff, affected families, and the public.
- Collect and analyze program data to measure the outcome of program services and assist in the identification of public health needs, barriers to services, and opportunities for program change. Establish and continue coordination/collaboration with other states/federal agencies, local health departments, communities, and families to share information.
- Compile, evaluate, and disseminate monthly and annual reports. Implement continuous quality improvement strategies or reviews to ensure ongoing quality, coordination, and alignment. Prevent duplication of services and promote efficient use of funding.
- The position will be required to manage budgets which include state and federal funding, develop and monitor contracts; provide training and technical assistance to system partners, develop, update and interpret program policies and procedures.

Bachelor's degree in health science or case management with 4 years of work experience. Preference will be given to candidates with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing with a professional level of experience as a Registered Nurse.
