The employee in this position will, under limited supervision, function as an auditing/compliance investigator who audits/investigates ambulance services to make proper recommendation reports regarding any program integrity-related issues/concerns. Examples of duties include, but are not limited to, the following: analysis of complex, detailed statistical compliance data; interpretation of Federal, State, and Rules, Regulations, Policies, and Procedures. Preparation of accurate analysis and investigative audit reports, including program recommendations regarding program compliance and possible sanctions, and the responsibility of ensuring that the ambulance service and EMCT programs comply with Regulations by conducting compliance investigations and routine monitoring.
Consistently, the employee also analyzes compliance data and interprets Federal, State, and laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. In addition, the employee applies knowledge of auditing, accounting, and recordkeeping. The employee also works with State, Local and National organizations and all other professionals, as needed in various related projects.
- Conducts compliance & performance audits. Prepares audit reports and work with internal as well as external stakeholders.
- Prepares notices and correspondences to ambulance services relating to program performance and non-compliance with the Federal and State Regulations; recommends the appropriate action and prepares notifications to ambulance services.
Reviews and analyzes reports, records, and other necessary data to ensure that programs receive the information required by regulations and Director decisions. Prepares complex recommendations/spreadsheets for potential compliance and audit work.

One year of experience in auditing/compliance or related experience. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or closely related field preferred and may substitute for 6 months relevant experience. Candidates with additional related or advanced training are preferred, such as National Certified Investigator and Inspector Training (NCIT).
Employees who drive on state business require possession of and the ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment. In addition, employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license checks, maintain acceptable driving records, and complete any driver training (See Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.11).
