Job Summary:

The Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control is seeking a Program Compliance Auditor III. A Bachelor’s Degree in accounting is desirable, but an equivalent combination of education and/or 3-years’ work experience in financial auditing will also be considered. Must have completed a minimum of 21 semester hours of accounting or auditing classes.

Job Duties:
  • Investigation and financial auditing of restaurants that have liquor licenses to determine compliance with Arizona Revised Statutes, Title Four.
  • Review annual production reports and direct shipment reports for violations and draft investigation reports for all violations.
  • Apply and interpret Federal and State laws, rules and regulations as they pertain to the position.
  • Audit interviews and inspections on site with licensees at their place of business.
  • Prepare detailed reports of audit procedures for examination by management.
  • Travel to out of town locations to conduct audit interviews and retrieve audit records.
  • Assist the Investigations Division in determination of potential audits.
  • Testify before the Office of Administrative Hearings, State Liquor Board and Superior court.
  • Ability to interact with management, compliance and licensing divisions when needed.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles and auditing standards and practices.
  • Ability to investigate, analyze and interpret financial records.
  • Must possess strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must be detail-oriented, responsible and organized.
  • Must have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must have basic computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Pre-Employment Requirements:
  • Some out of town travel may require an overnight stay.
  • Must pass criminal background check.
