Job Summary:

Will provide management and oversight to large cross functional projects and initiatives within the operation of the Project Management Office and Project Delivery consultants related to IT Governance. Incumbent will optimize the value, cost and risk, turning data into knowledge to make sound business decisions and implement changes. Proactively and routinely identifies and solves problems.

This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Job Duties:

Provide management and oversight to the Project Management Office. Prioritizing and plans work activities; sets goals and objectives.

Identifies and manages required contracted resources; trains, schedules and monitors resources; may assist with development or preparation of department level budget.

Manages the program based on repeatable standards and practices where possible, but also defining new approaches to build efficient business workflows.

Selective Preference(s):

Bachelor's degree plus 10 or more years of experience in project coordination, project management and program management (or equivalent experience).

Pre-Employment Requirements:

This position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job, and the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).
