Job Summary:

The Program Services Evaluator 2 (PSE 2) maintains and primarily oversees the Resource Unit Mailboxes. The PSE 2 assists when needed with processing requests for services made by field staff for the Department of Child Safety (DCS) clients, and assigns providers based on the service referral guides. This position works with DCS field staff as well as with community providers in regards to matching, ending, or extending service authorizations in the Guardian database. In addition, this position communicates directly with community providers in regards to availability for services.

Bi-Lingual Stipend

DCS offers a Bi-Lingual Stipend to all interested and eligible DCS Employees who successfully complete a language proficiency exam.  Qualifying employees will receive a $500 annual stipend paid in equal increments.

Job Duties:

- Receives/processes service authorization requests for children/adults for parent aide services, supervised visitation only services, in-home services, Building Resilient Families, psychological evaluations, counseling referrals/requests, adoptive home study requests and psychiatric evaluations. Logs processed referrals as well as extensions assigned to providers daily. Ensures services are assigned per the service referral guide.
- Maintains, enters, updates and tracks service authorizations and other Guardian data as requested by the supervisor and Program Manager.
- Monitors and maintains the Resource Unit mailboxes. Ensures referrals are placed in the corresponding folders for assignment. Ensures logs and availability are updated daily.
- Provides assistance either in person or by telephone or email to field staff or service providers.
- Assists the payment processing unit as well as field staff with requests for emergency funds for services.
- Submits weekly email correspondence to providers for availability and requests additional openings when wait-lists exists. Follows up with providers when weekly availability is not received.

- General resources available in the community that may be utilized on behalf of clients
- General policies, procedures and practices of court Foster Care Review Board with regard to cases involving custody and placement of children
- Developmental and behavioral problems of children
- Cultural environment and community influences on the behavior and development of individuals
- Program policies, procedures, rules and regulations as it pertains to area of assignment
- Microsoft Windows NT and Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and Access

Selective Preference(s):

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or GED and experience in data entry, at least (1) year work experience in a related position, and will have computer experience and/or training related to computer applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet Explorer and Guardian.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

Requires possession of and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver license record check, must maintain acceptable driving record and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12). Employees may be required to use their own transportation as well as maintain valid motor vehicle insurance and current Arizona vehicle registration. Mileage may be reimbursed, if applicable.

The ability to secure and maintain an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card and the ability to secure and maintain clearance from the DCS Central Registry.
