Job Summary:

This position directly supervises a unit of staff who complete eligibility determination/decisions for Medical Assistance (MA), Nutrition Assistance (NA), and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Cash Assistance (CA) programs. This position also monitors and reviews office-based customer Tracker Systems to ensure customers are being assisted by the appropriate staff in a timely manner within quality expectations.

Job Duties:

• Monitor and review the office-based customer Tracker System to ensure customers are being assisted by the appropriate PSE 2-3 staff, in a timely manner.
• Provide feedback and train staff on quality and service delivered to customers.
• Ensure timely and accurate notification to the staff of procedure changes
• Provide training and ensure compliance with the procedures
• Completes performance evaluations.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

• Knowledge of public assistance eligibility determination processes.
• Knowledge of Federal and State laws, statutes, regulations, policies, and procedures pertaining to public assistance programs.
• Knowledge of internet and email use, task management, Google, MS Office software, such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of computer programs/systems utilized by FAA for eligibility determinations such as AZTECS, HEAplus, FAA online policy manual, OnBase, etc.
• Considerable knowledge of communication, conflict resolution, mediation, and collaboration techniques; general knowledge of DOA/DES Personnel policies and procedures; leadership and team building methodologies.
• Knowledge of the Agency’s evaluation system and forms used/required.

• Strong written and oral communication skills to convey a wide variety of information. Experience with public speaking, project planning and the coordination of activities; must be able to work semi-independently while functioning as an integral part of the region’s management structure.
• Ability to manage supervisors/employees with diverse skills, educational, and cultural backgrounds. Ability to work semi-independently while functioning as an integral part of the Agency’s management structure.
• Ability to assess operational needs, establish priorities and analyze complex issues and implement operational procedures. Must be able to lead by example while promoting continuous learning and developing staff skills.

Selective Preference(s):

• Two (2) years of experience performing functions related to determining eligibility for FAA programs or other closely related social service programs.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

• Successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify), applicable to all newly hired state employees
• Successfully pass background and reference checks; employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process and the agency’s ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions.
• This position is required to drive on state business when appropriate, the position will require the possession of and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment and meet department driving criteria. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12). Employees may be required to use their own transportation as well as maintain valid motor vehicle insurance and current Arizona vehicle registration; however, mileage will be reimbursed.
