This position may offer the ability to work remotely 3 days a week, within Arizona, based upon the department’s business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.
The GPS Program Specialist is responsible for performing complex research and analytical work for the Equipment Services (EQS) Statewide GPS Program within the areas of fleet productivity analysis, measurements, metrics, models and completes projects designed to advance continuing improvements in the efficiency and cost effectiveness of the ADOT and Enterprise Fleet Operations. The position works closely with area managers and serves as a vital provider of administrative, business, analytical information and data analysis, suggesting new ways to leverage data available. The position also serves as the point of contact facilitating communication between the GPS vendor LB Technologies and management on all system issues.
This position may be available for remote work within Arizona (Three (3) days per week in the office/hoteling).

Assemble information drawn from GPS tracking software and other Fleet data systems to prepare, analyze and disseminate daily, weekly, monthly reports to managers and supervisors as needed. Analyze data to identify negative trends and work closely with management and customer base to make improvements.
Responsible for timely production of critical and routine fleet information findings and recommendations to customer departments and management. Ensures fleet and GPS system information data integrity. Regularly interface with LB Technologies and all levels of EQS and Enterprise Fleet agency business units.
Analyze, interpret, and evaluate fleet information gathered from multiple sources to identify trends. Work with management to develop regular reporting and data visualizations to inform operational and managerial decision making and process improvements.
Knowledge of:
• Working knowledge of GPS monitoring systems, data management, data gathering and analyzing data.
• Principles and practices of efficient and economical fleet management and operations.
• Methods, materials, tools and standard practices of the automotive and construction equipment trade.
• Laws, ordinances, rules, regulations, and other requirements covering the operation and maintenance of automotive and construction equipment including but not limited to: Federal DOT Regulations, FMVSS108, OSHA, ARS, Environmental, Alternative Fuel and applicable Codes of Federal Regulations.
• Fleet management computer applications.
• ADOT organizational structure and chain of command requirements.
• ADOT, state, federal and local laws and regulations relative to vehicle maintenance.
• Internal operation procedures, structure and customs of vehicle repair and service processes.
Skill in:

• Delivering training to end users of the GPS applications.

• Assemble and interpret statistical data, analyze data to identify trends and develop improvements, QA and troubleshoot data.

Two years experience in project management to include database management, data analysis, preparing correspondence, generating reports, data collection, workload control and policy writing.
Fleet Focus database management experience is highly desirable.
This position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job, and the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11).
