The Arizona Department of Revenue is currently seeking a motivated, innovative and solutions driven individual to work as our new Programmer Analyst. This position works as an application support role performing root cause analysis and remediation in one or more applications or systems. This position fixes and develops changes to applications to meet functional and technical designs following best practices and development standards and guidelines. You will analyze, debug, and resolve defects in applications as well as support production systems. This position resolves end user service requests as assigned and completes unit test application changes to ensure quality of work. You will work closely with business analysts and stakeholders to understand functional requirements, and contribute to the completion of functional specifications.
Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Performs root cause analysis and remediation in one or more applications or systems
Fixes and develop changes to applications to meet functional and technical designs following best practices and development standards and guidelines
Analyzes, debugs, and resolves defects in applications
Supports production systems; analyzes and resolves production problems in a timely manner; resolves end user service requests as assigned
Completes unit test application changes to ensure quality of work
General knowledge of programming languages,
Database management systems, and
Strong customer service
Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication
Balance, prioritize and organize multiple tasks
Work collaboratively in teams and across organizations
Synthesize feedback and adjust plans accordingly
Build strong relationships inside and outside the organization
Develop and write technical documentation
Develop applications in at least one programming language
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
Bachelor's degree plus 2- 4 years of programming and analysis experience (or equivalent experience)
Experience with Continuous Improvement or LEAN is preferred
