The Arizona Department of Revenue is currently seeking a motivated, innovative and solutions driven individual to work as our new Programmer Analyst. This position is part of the Oracle support team currently supporting the Tax Administration System (TAS) developed in PLSQL and Oracle Forms. This position is also responsible for analyzing, debugging and resolving defects in TAS, performing tasks related to scheduled processes (daily, weekly, monthly, annual). Qualified candidates should be proficient in SQL/PLSQL with some experience in Oracle Forms, have the proven ability to analyze, troubleshoot and provide documented solutions to resolve issues.

Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Analyzes, debugs and resolves defects in applications in a timely manner.
• Performs tasks associated to scheduled processes.
• Supports production systems, analyzes and resolves production problems in a timely manner, resolves end user service requests as assigned.
• Develops new or modifies existing applications to meet functional and technical designs.
• Prepares technical documentation on application specifications.
• Engages with business analysts and stakeholders to understand functional requirements and contributes to completion of functional specifications.
• Creates deliverables according to the Software Development Lifecycle such as functional and technical specifications, use ceases, test cases and system documentation.
• Develops applications following best practices, development standards and guidelines.
  

Knowledge of:

• PLSQL, Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports and Oracle Database Objects.
• Considerable working knowledge of database management systems.
• Considerable working knowledge of shell scripting (UNIX/Linux).
• Release and configuration management.
• Technologies and underlying principles.
• Fundamentals of objects oriented and service software design principals.

The ideal candidate for this position will have:

• Bachelor's degree plus 4 or more years for programming and analysis experience (or equivalent experience).
• Experience with Continuous Improvement or LEAN is preferred.
  

Candidates for this position will be required to submit Tax Filing Records, Employment Verification Check and Fingerprints that will be used to check criminal history records from the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) and the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI).
