Are you interested in joining an innovative team that serves in a critical role for the Arizona Judiciary? The Certification and Licensing Division is seeking an individual with demonstrated expertise in programs management and supervision of staff at varying professional levels.
The Programs Management Unit Manager will perform highly responsible management and administrative duties, overseeing and monitoring regulated professionals and businesses and the certification/licensing and recertification process of applicants for programs within the Certification and Licensing Division, and supervising professional and administrative staff in the performance of duties relating to regulatory boards and committees.
This position is also responsible for managing the compliance reviews of certified Defensive Driving schools and the monitoring of certified Defensive Driving instructors, to determine compliance with administrative and court rules and applicable statutes. Ensures application of standards to both traditional Defensive Driving schools and those offering services via alternative methods, including, for example, through the Internet. Responds to inquiries from certificate holders and licensees, the public, judicial officers, and court administration on the application, review, and training process.
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration or other related fields and five years of progressive management experience in court administration, the legal profession, or other related government experience. Demonstrated expertise in effectively and appropriately supervising staff at varying professional levels; demonstrated ability to work independently and display good judgment in highly stressful situations with minimal supervision; strong research, tracking, and critical analysis skills. This position also requires the ability to develop, understand and apply statutes, court rules, administrative orders, and policies and procedures. Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills in working collaboratively with others to analyze complex policy and procedural issues and draft and implement changes, and excellent oral and written communication skills, including report writing techniques
