The Arizona Department of Agriculture is currently recruiting for a Project Manager to join our Information Technology team. We are seeking an individual who is detail oriented, self-driven and able to manage multiply projects at the same time.

This position will report to the IT Manager and will be responsible for managing internal and external IT projects, resolve and/or assist in the resolution of conflicts within and between projects or functional areas, monitor project or area progress and escalate as appropriate. Work cross-functionally to solve problems and implement changes and proactively and routinely identifies, mitigates and reports project risk. Will assist with policy and security audits. The position requires independent judgment and decision making, confidentiality of proprietary agency and industry information. The position will respond promptly to customer needs, responds to request for service and assistance, manage difficult or emotional customer situations. Responds to requests for assistance through the agency help desk and other duties as assigned.

Job Duties:

Manage internal and external IT projects.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

General working knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management.
General knowledge of the Department's methodologies and tools.
General knowledge of the Department's policies and procedures.
Proficiency with Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK)

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to balance and prioritize multiple tasks.
Experience with project management for software development.
Build relationships with customers; strong customer service.
Develop and write technical documentation

Adapt to a changing development environment.
Communicate complex IT terminology to non-technical personnel.
Maintain a long term goal oriented approach to IT projects.
Promote a team oriented approach to IT projects and support.
Synthesize feedback.

Selective Preference(s):

Bachelor's degree plus 3 years or more similar experience in similar IT environments.
Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)
An ability to include the relevant statutes or rules in the development process, requires understanding of language used.

Positions in this classification participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS). Mandatory condition of Employment for all employees who meet the eligibility and membership criteria defined in statue. Current contribution rate is 12.44%. Enrollment eligibility will become effective after 27 weeks of employment.
