The Centrally Valued Property Appraiser, Senior conducts the most complex appraisals of all centrally valued properties (CVP) (e.g., electric generation, transmission, distribution, renewable energy properties, mines, railroads, pipelines, telecommunications properties, airline flight property, among others), utilizing methods and techniques that comply with Arizona Revised Statutes, standard appraisal methods/techniques, and guidelines and rules of the Arizona Department of Revenue, to produce equitable valuations and uniform allocations of those values for property tax purposes. This role may be called upon as an expert witness to review, discuss, and defend values in informal taxpayer conferences, before both judicial and administrative bodies and formally represent valuations on behalf of the Department and the State. This position also serves as subject matter experts for the team providing training and guidance to more junior team members.
This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Education & Experience
Any combination that meets the knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA); typical ways KSAs are obtained may include but are not limited to: a relevant degree from an accredited college or university such as Bachelor’s Degree (e.g., B.A.), training, coursework, and work experience relevant to the assignment.
Minimum of four (4) years’ previous property appraisal experience
Minimum of two (2) years’ previous commercial property appraisal experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Experience with LEAN management process improvement methodologies
Experience in testifying before a panel or before a jury or judge in a courtroom situation
Experience in Unitary Appraisal
Experience valuing complex commercial, industrial, and income producing properties
