Performs individual and group therapy with individuals with a sexual offense history, who have been identified as Sexually Violent Persons and civilly committed to Arizona Community Protection and Treatment Center (ACPTC). Participates in resident treatment groups by developing group curricula, facilitating group therapy sessions, and documenting resident treatment progress. Screens, interviews, and conducts assessments and evaluations, ensuring accurate data collection. Performs risk assessments, provides emergency interventions, and issues clinical orders as appropriate. Engages in case presentations and multidisciplinary staffing, develops and reviews treatment plans for compliance, identifies resident needs, and establishes goals and objectives. Designs, implements, and evaluates group programs. Writes and reviews progress notes for compliance, and evaluates reports, treatment summaries, and recommendations regarding changes in resident placement. Participates in committees as assigned. Participates in classification decisions and may provide clinical oversight in absence of ACPTC Clinical Director, may provide supervision to psychology interns/students.
- Provides psychological treatment and counseling (individual and groups,) conducts psychological evaluations/risk assessments: develops, implements and evaluates resident programs and accurate documentation. Evaluates and documents consultation regarding residents who exhibit signs of or who verablize intent to harm themselves or others (DTO/DTS) to ensure the safety of residents and staff.
- Participates in clinical treatment planning for residents. Provides clinical oversight in the absence of the Clinical Director. Develops and maintains psychological program resident files including treatment plans, progress notes, reports, and case summaries.
- Conducts/reviews research in areas of mental health, sex offender treatment, recidivism, psychology and special needs of resident population: presents case study reviews to members of psychology staff: works with professionals from outside agencies in joint treatment efforts as needed.
- Promotes cooperation and dialogue with facility departments/staff through committee meetings, staffings, special activities, and consultation.
- Participates in professional development activities, including in-service training to program staff, develops, implements, and evaluates training: participates in conferences and professional organizational activities. Maintains continuing education credits.
- Provides supervision and clinical oversight to doctoral level interns, practicum students, and master's level clinicians who are working towards advanced licensure (LPC). Provides administrative assistance by reviewing treatment plans and progress notes for quality, accuracy, and compliance.
- Other duties as assigned as related to the position (typically 5% - 10%)

- Contemporary thoughts and trends in psychology, sociology and mental health,
- Research methods and techniques to include data analysis and psychological measurements

- Providing psychological treatment and counseling to individuals and groups in accordance with professional and ethical standards.

Ability to:
- Work effectively with and consult with a multidisciplinary team,
- Provide timely documentation for assessment and treatment activities, administer, score and interpret a variety of psychological tests accurately and effectively
- Write summaries and reports of professional quality, perform counseling and therapy services with individuals and groups.

- Training in a wide range of psychological assessments and 1 years of professional experience as a licensed psychologist or training experience with forensic populations. Experience working with individuals with a history of sexual offending, treatment, or assessment preferred, but not required. Preference given to applicants with Public Health experience.
- Must have a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology. Must be licensed as a Psychologist in the State of Arizona or be license eligible and receive certification from the Board of Psychologist Examiners within one year of appointment.
