The Psychology Associate II will be performing individual and group therapy with adults males who have sexually offended, participating in resident treatment groups, screening, interviewing, needs assessment, evaluating/recording data, risk assessment, emergency intervention, case presentation and staffing, developing treatment plans, identifying needs, setting goals and objectives, and designing programs. The Psychology Associate II will also be involved in writing progress notes, reviewing evaluation reports/treatment summaries and recommends change for resident placement. The position will participate in committees which will be involved in classification decisions and summarizing work activities.
What will I be doing in this job?
− Provides psychosexual treatment and counseling (individual and groups), and conducts
psychological evaluations/risk assessments.
- Develops, implements, and evaluates resident programs and provides accurate
− Participates in clinical treatment planning for residents and develops/maintains psychological
program resident files that include treatment plans, progress notes, reports, and case
− Conducts research in areas of mental health, sex offender treatment, recidivism, psychology
and special needs of resident population.
− Provide case study and reviews and presents to members of the psychology staff.
− Works with professionals from outside agencies in joint treatment efforts.
− Promotes cooperation and dialogue with faculty departments/staff through committee
meetings, staffing, special activities, and consultation.
− Develop, implement, and participates in professional development activities, including in-
service training to program staff.
− Involved in conferences and professional organizational activities.
What does this job require?
− Knowledge of techniques and procedures for psychological counseling and therapy:
comprehensive knowledge of psychological screening, testing and evaluations.
− Knowledge of contemporary thoughts and trends in psychology, sociology and mental
− Knowledge of research methods and techniques to include data analysis and

− Skilled in providing psychological treatment and counseling to individuals and groups.
− Skilled in oral and written communication
− Experience in case management, interpersonal relations, and report writing.
− Ability to work effectively with and consult with a multidisciplinary team.
− Ability to provide timely documentation for assessment and treatment activities.
− Administer, score and interpret a variety of psychological tests accurately and effectively.
− Write summaries and reports of professional quality, perform counseling and therapy
services with individuals and groups.

The ideal candidate will have:
− Licensed as a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) or Licensed Professional Counselor
(LPC) by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners (AZBBHE) preferred but not
− Experience working with individuals with sex offender history also preferred.
− Knowledge and proficiency in the use and interpretation of Penile Plethysmography (PPG)
testing also preferred, but not required.
- Master's degree or two years full-time graduate work toward a doctoral degree in psychology,
educational psychology, counseling psychology or other recognized area of psychology and
possess directly related work experience.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Must possess a valid level one fingerprint clearance card issues pursuant to A.R.S.41-1758.07
or must apply for a level one fingerprint clearance card within seven working days after

-$500 after 90 days of continuous employment
-$500 after 6 months of continuous employment
-$1,500 after 1 year of continuous employment
