Public Safety Training Specialist(Flex/Spillman)

Salary: $49,092.16 - $66,050.40

Job Summary:

This recruitment will be used to establish an eligible list to fill current and future vacancies. Application period may close without notice.

The current vacancy is located in the Department's Information Management Bureau. The position manages one or more aspects of a training and development program. This position is specific to the Flex/Spillman Work Group within the Department. This position is embedded in the Flex/Spillman Team to facilitate the development of the system, conduct data searches and instruction in the use of the software. Highly desirable skills include experience using the Flex/Spillman and/or Canvas systems, instructor experience with Flex/Spillman and/or Canvas as the subject matter, and the ability to multi-task under stringent deadlines. This full-time position is based in Phoenix and occasional travel would be required. Performs related duties as assigned. This is a competitive classification.

Minimum Qualifications:

Seven years of professional level law enforcement experience as an Arizona POST certified peace officer. 

Requires Arizona POST General Instructor certification.

Must have and maintain a valid Arizona driver license. 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work setting may include office, classroom, firearms range, driving track, training mat, or other proficiency training venues.

May be required to lift or carry up to 60 pounds of training equipment.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Statewide travel may be required to perform certain work functions.

Progression to the next step requires an overall performance rating of at least "Standard" in the last 12 months.

Must successfully complete the examination process.

FLSA Status:  Non-Exempt

Pre-Employment Requirements:

Applicants must complete an examination process.  A polygraph and background investigation are required for successful applicants.  All newly hired employees will be subject to the E-Verify Employment Eligibility Verification Program.
