QA Analyst (IT)

Job Summary:

The Information Services Division (ISD) is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team as a QA Analyst (IT). This position is responsible for the testing of complex systems/processes, undertaking analysis, design and planning, and has a broader knowledge of different kinds of workstation administration, agency computer systems and programs. The employee in this position will have the capability to define what needs to be done rather than completing projects outlined for them. This position requires technical analysis and design capabilities, making independent decisions on organizing and completing projects and the methods appropriate to the work. This position focuses more on analysis, design and planning and performing life-cycle tasks regarding system testing, analysis, documentation and implementation for both new systems and for modification of existing systems.

Job Duties:

• Performs quality assurance testing software applications, mainframe testing of legacy systems, and wed interfaces. This includes system analysis, testing, documentation, and implementation for both new systems and for modification of existing systems.

• Performs User Acceptance Testing and/or Regression testing of automated system changes to ensure accuracy and thoroughness of expected output/outcome.

• Performs research and analyses of system problems/issues, internally or externally identified, document and recommend/propose resolution. Create system change requests or tickets as necessary to document defects. Uses knowledge of both the business area and applications to analyze impact of user requirements on programs; develops and executes system tests.

• Prepares Test Plans both manual and automated. Prepares documentation to support analysis, design, and planning of projects.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

• Automated Information System Design and Functions

• User Acceptance Test Procedures, Test Plan Development and Standards for Documentation

• Automated Information System Design and Functions

• Analytical/research and problem solving skills to identify and respond to issues and effectively evaluate outcome

• Technical skills for preparation of test scenarios and system evaluation

• Demonstrated ability to work closely with business and other diversely talented technologists with a high degree of accuracy and detail

• Ability to work independently as well as in a team

Selective Preference(s):

• Experience working in IT Quality Assurance as a tester in a Managed Care Organization or Medicaid

• Experience with automated testing configuration

• Two plus years of experience working in IT Quality Assurance as a tester.
