This position analyzes requirements to develop test plans, create test cases, and document application defects for internally developed software for both .net and Oracle applications that are used by both internal business units and taxpayers.
Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Participates in requirements gathering and technical analysis to ensure completeness of documentation needed to accurately perform testing. Creates test plans based on requirements documentation to ensure traceability and completeness of test coverage. Writes detailed test cases for new applications or updates to existing applications.
Performs testing by creating test data and executing manual and/or automated test scripts for projects. Identifies application defects or usability issues and documents results. Performs retests and rework as necessary.
Identifies process improvement needs and assists management on implementing changes to improve efficiency and productivity.
Develops Quality Assurance documentation on processes and standards to be used by the QA team and shares knowledge with team members including cross training.
Software development processes including requirements and technical design analysis, design, development, system and user testing, problem resolution and planning.
Excellent interpersonal skills with strong written and oral communication capabilities.
Balance, prioritize, and organize multiple tasks
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
Bachelor's degree plus 0-2 years experience in quality assurance testing and analysis (or equivalent experience).
Experience with Continuous Improvement or LEAN is preferred.
