Job Summary:

The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Coordinator with a keen eye for detail to audit and review the quality assurance pertaining to the mental health services in our 16 correctional facilities. Under the supervision of the Program Evaluation Administrator, this position ensures the contracted vendor provides appropriate, timely, and professional care to inmates at the assigned state facilities and/or contract private prisons. The Quality Assurance Coordinator provides feedback to the site level administration, and assists in the development of coordination of care.

Job Duties:

-Reviews any mental health records pertaining to mental health services which are provided by the contracted vendors
-Reviews Health Needs Requests forms and appointment schedules to ensure on-site services are timely
-Works collaboratively with Facility and Contract Bed to monitor concerning mental health issues
-Monitors and reviews services for unusual patterns of utilization or denial
-Assess the clinical appropriateness of mental health services to include provider referrals and documentation
-Conducts utilization, reviews, spot checks, and scheduled quality assurance audits to ensure compliance with Federal and State laws and -ADCRR policies and procedures
-Provides feedback and works collaboratively with site level administration to ensure that processes are following policies and procedures
-Completes required reports, conducts research and composes correspondence, attends meetings and trainings as required
-Completes special projects and assignments within established time frames
-Travels on State business
-Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment

Selective Preference(s):

-Three (3) years experience providing mental treatment services to incarcerated individuals
-Master’s Degree or higher in a mental health related field
-Current Arizona License Board of Behavioral Health Examiner
-Certified Correctional Healthcare Professional (CCHP)

Pre-Employment Requirements:

Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation.

Retirement:

Positions in this classification participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS).
Enrollment eligibility will become effective after 27 weeks of employment.
