The Department of Economic Security, Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Redaction Manager. DDD provides individuals with developmental disabilities, and their families, services and supports that are flexible, high quality, and member driven. These services provide individuals with opportunities to exercise their rights and responsibilities of independent decision-making and engagement in the community.

Applicants for this position cannot be licensed or certified by the DDD Office of Licensing Certification and Regulation, cannot have a principal interest in or have a spouse or close family with principal interest in a DDD Qualified Vendor Agreement, and cannot be employed or subcontracted by a DDD Qualified Vendor.

Job Duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
● Supervises staff to include a systematic approach to auditing redacted documents and generation of performance and track and trend reports. Coordinates with other internal and external stakeholders related to redaction activities and reporting.
● Supervises direct reports and provides leadership, mentoring, coaching and direct supervision of staff; facilitates and attends huddles, and completes performance appraisals, authorizes leave, and approves timecards; provides ongoing assessment of work performance during 1:1 meetings. Responsible for personnel actions, hiring/interviewing, training, monitoring & evaluating to ensure all staff are qualified and competent to meet performance standards.
● Oversight of the creation of established IOC reports which may include preparing ad hoc reports required by AHCCCS. Maintains databases and or tracking systems used to track redaction activities for analysis and systems improvements.
● Assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures and guidelines to define systems and operations relevant to the redaction process, and the IOC as applicable.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge in:
● Federal and state laws and agency rules, regulations, policies, and procedures surrounding DDD practices and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), to include PHI/PII.
● Values and rights associated with the field of developmental disabilities.
● Human Dynamics and organizational systems.
● Knowledge of various computer software programs.
Skills In:
● Effective advocacy strategies and problem solving moderate to complex situations.
● Conflict resolution.
● Oral and written communication and organization and time management.
● Compiling data and reports using computer systems including Google Suite, Microsoft Suite, and database systems (i.e., FOCUS).
Ability to:
● Demonstrate initiative and commit to continuous improvement.
● Collaborate with other programs internally and externally and effectively represent the Division with internal and external stakeholders with good decision-making abilities.
● Work with diverse individuals, advocacy groups, Governor's office, and others.
● Mentor, coach, and direct staff to meet goals. Detail oriented while maintaining a global perspective.

Selective Preference(s):

The ideal candidate for this position will have:
● 2 years' experience working with vulnerable populations (e.g., developmental disabilities, geriatric, behavioral health, etc.) and at least 1 year of direct supervisory experience. Prefer experience using databases and spreadsheets.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

● Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver's license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver's license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to Driver's license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operated a
personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) (R2-10-201.11).
● Successfully pass background and reference check; employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process and the Agency's ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions.

Retirement:

State employees are required to participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS), the State sponsored retirement contribution plan and the Long-Term Disability (LTD) program after a 27-week waiting period. The ASRS defined benefit plan provides for life-long income upon retirement. You will also have the option to participate in a voluntary deferred compensation program to take advantage of tax-deferred retirement investments.
