Evaluate health care needs of students and refer to appropriate specialist when necessary; administer immunizations and maintain records as deemed necessary by the school physician and in compliance with State laws; administer medications and maintain records including dosages and untoward effects; educate students in personal hygiene and total health care; make medical appointments; assist with doctor's clinics to describe the student's condition to the physician and interpret the medical information to the student and his/her parents; keep current medical records on each student; conduct routine surveys and annual screenings; keep parents apprised of student health status; work with physicians at the Student Health Center and throughout the State of Arizona; manage student emergencies related to accidents and health care; communicate student health care needs to the instructional and residence hall staff; and take sign language classes for communication with deaf students
