Job Summary:

The Business Architect is responsible for the planning and scoping of several inter-related initiatives. This position contributes directly to the strategic planning of information systems and technology directions for regulatory compliance, designing and leading the implementation of key business processes and applications. Working with a high degree of independence, the Architect gathers high-level requirements, translates them into functional, cross-platform solutions, and ensures that business systems standards are rigorously maintained across all regulatory platforms.

Job Duties:

Responsibilities include:
• Contributes to strategic planning of information systems and technology directions. Designs and leads the implementation of the organization's key business processes and applications. Acts as the primary resource for enterprise business analysis including the planning and scoping of several inter-related initiatives within the regulatory portfolio.
• Gathers and documents high-level business requirements for the enterprise. Translates requirements into business, functional and use case documents for enterprise-wide projects. Prepares and delivers well-organized proposals to senior management.
• Monitors and ensures business systems standards are being maintained throughout the organization.
• Takes ownership for high quality stakeholder communications, including delivering informative, well-organized presentations and project status reviews.
• Identifies opportunities and implements solutions to improve efficiency and reduce waste. Leads initiatives to develop solutions and processes to meet needs; identifies unique innovative approaches.
• Other duties as assigned as related to the position.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:
• Thorough working knowledge of methodologies and techniques for systems analysis and design, business process modeling, requirements gathering, quality assurance, and software development.
• Expert working knowledge of policies, procedures, programs and business goals.
• Expert working knowledge of business process design/redesign.
• Mastery with Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK).

Skilled in:
• Strong customer service skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
• Advanced analytical skills to evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, consolidate details and extract to functional requirements.

Ability to:
• Effectively translate user requirements into business, functional and test scenarios for projects of various sizes and complexity.
• Develop and write technical documentation.
• Balance, prioritize and organize multiple tasks.
• Work collaboratively in teams and across organizations.
• Synthesize feedback and adjust plans accordingly.
• Build strong relationships inside and outside the organization.

Selective Preference(s):

• Bachelor's Degree and/or 15 years of experience in business analysis (or equivalent experience).
• Lean or Six-sigma certification a plus.
• Knowledge and 5+ years of experience with CMR solutions such as Salesforce or other enterprise licensing solutions.

Retirement:

To help you build a financially secure future, the State makes monthly contributions to finance your retirement benefit. The State will contribute to the ASRS in an amount equal to your contribution. In other words, you and the State will each pay 50% of total cost of the benefit. New State employees have a 27-week wait period for contributions to begin.
