Job Summary:

The Department of Economic Security, Division of Benefits and Medical Eligibility, is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Reporting & Analysis Manager for the Business Operations unit. Under the direction from the Business Administrator, this position provides oversight and management of the Division’s Data & Reporting unit and functions.

Job Duties:

• Ensures federal reports for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance (SNAP), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), and Medical Assistance (MA) are in compliance with federal reporting standards.
• Manages the collection and validation of data from various systems and resources; production of data, reports and analytics for inquiries from external entities, the Director’s office, the Assistant Director’s Office and various other stakeholders who require data and reports.
• Analyzes business data for accuracy, trending, understanding and insight and reports results to the Business Administrator. Consolidate data sources, research, discover and validate drivers, details and present explanation for trends identified.
• Provides leadership to and supervises all areas of the Data & Reporting team through staff meetings, individual meetings, correspondence, and in-house training. Provide current, accurate and complete information to ensure a competent and effective unit.
• Extensive teamwork with other divisions and business units to execute and validate projects to improve data analysis and reporting.
• Writes positions papers on critical issues, memos to staff in the Division and letters to other State and Federal agencies, community agencies, organization, and individuals in response to questions or obtain needed information.

• Federal, State, Department and Division laws, regulations, policies and procedures that govern the areas managed.
• Laws, regulations, rules, policies and principles governing personnel administration and management.
• Laws, regulations, rules and policies governing department administrative and planning procedures
• Comprehensive knowledge of databases, analytics, and data modeling,
• Data analysis, monitoring and evaluation procedures appropriate to the areas of responsibility.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

• Successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify), applicable to all newly hired State employees.

• In-state travel is required for State business. Requires possession of and ability to retain a current, valid Arizona driver’s license and proof of insurance at time of appointment. Employees who drive on state business must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12.) AND have an acceptable driving record in accordance with DES Fleet Management-Safety Program policy and procedures (DES 1-07-26 & DES 1-07-26-01). Employees may be required to use their own transportation as well as maintaining valid motor vehicle insurance and current Arizona vehicle registration; however, mileage will be reimbursed.
