Carries out all geriatric nursing care, treatment and services in a professional and prescribed manner; provides a safe, therapeutic and hygienic environment. Provides a variety of nursing care for infirm geriatric residents; oversees and trains staff in specific resident care; observes and assesses residents' behavior and physical conditions; administers medical treatment and intervention according to the plan of care; acts as lead or performs limited supervision on an assignment. In the event the Geriatric Nurse II position is the charge nurse, the incumbent oversees the functions of all licensed staff on the unit as well as the Certified Nursing Assistants. Learns, implements and monitors Arizona Management System (AMS) methods. Uses AMS concepts and tools for problem solving and continuous work/process improvements and efficiencies. Incorporates a cultural focus on Veteran/Member-centered care in the performance of job duties.
