Job Summary:

The Security Manager will serve as senior administrative and operational authority over physical asset protection and public gathering venue safety, and will be responsible for the safety and protection of guests, employees, performers, vendors, and facility assets through the development and execution of security strategies, emergency response planning, crown management, venue access control, incident response, and coordination with public safety agencies. Supervises security staff, contracted security vendors. Responsible for designing and implementing tactical response plans, directing massive contract security deployments, running incident command during emergencies, and mitigating physical safety threats.

This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Job Duties:

• Physical Facility Security and Emergency Management. Create, execute, update venue/facility vulnerability and protection plans, access control criteria, and agency SOPs.
• Lead safety and security operations during threats, disasters, security breaches.
• POC for emergency responders.
• Establish and oversee performance and instructions for internal and external security guard teams.
• Create and deploy ingress/egress, screening protocols, crowd control plans for all venue events.
• Conduct incident investigations for physical property, employees, guests, in accordance with statutory risk management requirements.
• Budget management, reporting, procurement of security related equipment.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:

• Security operations, public safety practices, and protective services for large scale public venues, entertainment, fairs,
festivals and special events;
• Crowd management principles, venue access control procedures, emergency preparedness, evacuation planning, ICS and NIMS, physical counter-terrorism concepts, state building codes, risk management requirements;
• Credentialing systems, radio communication protocols.

Skills in:

• Advanced skills in planning, organizing, and directing comprehensive security operations for large scale events and public gatherings;
• Evaluating security risks, implementing preventative and corrective measures, analyzing and managing emergency situations, incident response protocols, and maintaining operational security during critical events;
• Training, supervising and evaluating security personnel;
• The use of security technologies including surveillance systems, access controls, and communications.


Ability to:
• Maintain emotional control and deliver immediate decisions under intense duress during active security threats;
• Lead and motivate diverse personalities while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and customer service, with internal and external groups;
• Communicate verbally and in writing, at all levels;
• Effectively manage conflict resolution, and make sound judgement in high pressure situations.

Selective Preference(s):

• ICS/NIMS training.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or minimum 5 years security related leadership experience in arena, fairground, stadium or similar venue.
• Valid Arizona's Driver's License.
• Must pass Arizona DPS background check.
